AiroCollect has developed android applications to make the MINI-1 and MINI-2 as well as the MINI-3 fly automatically.

Below you find the applications and installation instructions.

The applications are made to make scanning an area with a drone easy!
They are all free of charge.

Installation

AiroCollect MINI-1-2-3 Android application

Step 1: Download the Application

  • Open Chrome and Visit airocollect.com/android on your device’s browser.



  • Navigate to the download section for the APK file that matches your drone.



  • Tap the icon for your drone; the download will start automatically, Go to Details.

Step 2: Allow Installation from Unknown Sources (Optional)

  • Open your device’s Settings.
  • Enable “Install from Unknown Sources” for your browser or file manager app.

  • On newer Android versions, allow this permission when prompted during installation.

  • If you receive a permission issues if you have older (<8) android version :

    Go to setting > search for “install unknown apps” then allow source
    OR
    Try setting > Apps (Apps & notifications) > Special app access > Install unknown apps.

Step 3: Install the APK

  • Click Install



Step 4: Launch the App

  • Tap “Open” after installation to start the app automatically
  • After installation please open the application and allow all permissions to continue flying.

These release notes provide a summary of the changes, improvements, and

New Features & Bugs Fixing
  • Shooting image: Speed up the image shooting, take two pictures at a speed of 2m/s in stead of one at a speed of 2m/s.
  • Altitude 120m: On return home overwrite the RTH height to the current mission height.
  • Clear mission: Be able to clear a mission while pausing OR on return home failsafe.
  • Drone fly away: Prevent drone to fly away on failed connection or pause the mission on high wind speed
Reported Issues
  • Speedup Image Shooting based upon distance traveled.
  • Overwrite RTH Altitude of 120m to mission height.
  • Be able to clear a mission.
  • In failsafe mode due to connection loss or due to high wind, stop drone fly away.

New Features

Failsafe to Smart Return Home

  • Implemented a failsafe mechanism that triggers Smart Return Home when necessary.
  • A popup notification will inform the user when the drone is returning home.

Disclaimer & User Responsibilities

  • Added a disclaimer section in the app regarding flight safety.
  • Users are now informed about their responsibilities when flying during missions. Wind Warning & Mission Block
  • Integrated a wind warning listener to monitor strong wind conditions.
  • If wind conditions exceed safety thresholds, the mission will be blocked, and the user will be prompted to take manual control.

RC Connection Weak – Mission Pause

  • If the RC (Remote Controller) signal weakens significantly, the mission will pause automatically.
  • A popup notification will alert the user about the weak connection and the need for corrective action.

RC Connection Lost – Return Home

  • If the RC connection is completely lost, the drone will initiate Return Home (RTH) automatically
  • A popup will notify the user about the connection loss and the return process.
